I think about my mom’s breast cancer, my niece's diabetes, and my husband’s heart attack and emergency bypass and remember how helpless I felt, and how much information and consideration I wish we had been given. My special care from the heart means really understanding how clients feel at that moment and giving them the consideration and care that is needed,

It means trying to hand feed the dog with the “caution” sticker because sometimes “caution” just means, “I’m scared”. It means answering one more question when you are sure you don’t have one more answer in you or staying an extra hour or two so your co-worker can be home with their sick child. It means treating the patients like your pets, the clients like they are your parents and your co-workers like they are your family.

Excellence is never an accident; it is the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, skillful execution and vision to see obstacles as opportunities. We must take the time to make a difference in the care and stay of each patient. Giving a hug to a client making them smile, getting a kiss from the dog, being there for your co-worker, supporting the doctor with their case, knowing when to speak up for the needs of the patients. Being the voice for them, never being lazy, and always doing your best.
